ABSTRACT
Medicine has a vital role in the world of health, especially affecting the
physiological functions of the human body. Medicines produced by a
pharmaceutical industry must be guaranteed quality, safety and benefits. Medicinal
conditions must be protected from the influence that might cause changes in the
active substance content in the product and the properties of the medicinal product.
People usually store at a certain place and temperature. Sometimes the medicine is
stored in a place with continuous lights, stored in the refrigerator, and sometimes
the medicine is placed on the TV. Medicinal preparations in solution or syrup are
easily damaged. Objective : This study aims to determine the effect of storage
temperature for the loratadine solution that has been opened, namely at refrigerator
temperature, room temperature and 40 ° C. Then the physical quality test is carried
out which includes organoleptic evaluation, pH determination test and assay test.
Results: obtained assay results with an average storage of 0 days = 100.6951%,
refrigerator temperature = 96.5689%, room temperature = 101.2841%, temperature
40°C = 90.1755%. Conclusion: In this study it can be said that variations in storage
temperature can affect the preparation of loratadine syrup that has been opened
