Alopecia areata (AA) is a disease characterized by sudden hair loss on the scalp. The diagnosis of AA by physical examination and dermoscopy is fairly easy, but the management of AA patients tends to be difficult. Therapy only stimulates new hair growth, but does not affect the course of the disease. Objective: to evaluate the results of using Minoxidil and topical corticosteroids in Alopecia Areata patients. Method: This research is a prospective descriptive study within a period of 6 months namely December 2019 -May 2020 at the Sidoarjo "X" skin and genital clinic. Results: Alopecia Areata patients in the "X" clinic studied were 27 males (67.5%) and 13 females (32.5%) from a total of 40 patients. Of the 40 patients, 50% had an increase in hair density, 7.5% had a decrease in hair density and 42.5% had no change in hair density. Whereas for hair growth, 100% of patients experience new hair growth. Conclusion: AA mostly attacks men at productive age. The first therapy given is topical minoxidil. The results of therapy in patients who did 50% re-control showed improvement in the growth of new hair in AA lesions.
