ABSTRAK Meningkatnya minat masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan obat tradisional terjadi karena ketersediaan yang mudah didapat. Cara tersebut sudah lama dilakukan dan diwariskan turun-menurun, mengingat bahwa penggunaanya diklaim aman serta efek samping yang ditimbulkan minim. Turi putih (Sesbania grandiflora) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat untuk pengobatan berbagai macam penyakit, diantaranya sebagai pencahar, pereda rasa nyeri (analgetika), penurun panas/demam (anti piretika), peluruh kencing (diuretika). Peneliti ingin mengetahui apakah Ekstrak Etanol Daun Turi Putih termasuk kedalam kategori toksik lalu berapakah nilai LD (Lethal dose) 50 dari Ekstrak Etanol Daun Turi Putih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah Ekstrak Etanol Daun Turi Putih memiliki efek toksisitas terhadap mencit dan menentukan nilai LD50 pada Ekstrak Etanol Daun Turi Putih melalui mencit. Penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk dalam penelitian eksperimental bersifat pre post control. Hasil penelitian ini adalah tidak adanya kematian pada mencit meskipun pada dosis tertinggi, mencit hanya mengalami kantuk dan sedikit yang mengalami tremor. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Daun Turi Putih ini bersifat aman dan tidak toksik. ABSTRACT The increasing public interest in utilizing traditional medicines is due to their easy availability. This method has been used for a long time and has been passed down for generations, considering that its use is claimed to be safe and the side effects caused are minimal. White turi (Sesbania grandiflora) is a type of plant that is used by the community for the treatment of various diseases, including as a laxative, pain reliever (analgetic), fever/fever reducer (anti-pyretic), urine laxative (diuretic). The researcher wanted to know whether the Ethanol Extract of Turi Putih Leaves was included in the toxic category and what was the LD (Lethal dose) value of 50 from the Ethanol Extract of Turi Putih Leaves. This study aims to determine whether the Turi Putih Leaf Ethanol Extract has a toxic effect on mice and to determine the LD50 value of Turi Putih Leaf Ethanol Extract through mice. The research conducted included in the experimental research is pre post control. The reasult of this study were that there was no death in mice even thought at the highest dose, mice only experienced drowsiness and a few experienced tremors. So it can be concluded that White Turi Leaves are safe and non-toxic.
