<note>ABSTRAK
Daun Suji (Dracaena angustifolia) merupakan tanaman perdu yang dalam aplikasinya di kehidupan sehari-hari memiliki berbagai kegunaan salah satunya yaitu dimanfaatkan baik untuk bidang pangan, kosmetika maupun pengobatan karena memiliki sifat antibakteri terutama menyembuhkan demam tifoid. Bakteri yang menyebabkan demam tifoid adalah Salmonella typhi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antibakteri dari ekstrak Daun Suji (Dracaena angustifolia) pada bakteri Salmonella typhi. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua konsetrasi daun suji yaitu 3% dan 6%, chloramphenicol sebagai kontrol positif dan aquadest sebagai kontrol negatif. Pengaruh pemberian daun suji pada bakteri Salmonella typhi ditandai degan terbentuknya zona hambat pada konsetrasi 3% diperoleh rata-rata 1,22 mm; konsetrasi 6% diperoleh rata-rata 2,50 mm; kontrol positif diperoleh rata-rata 11,48 mm; sedangkan untuk kontrl negatif tidak berpengaruh terhadap bakteri Salmonella typhi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ekstrak daun suji secara signifikan mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella typhi. Dan ada kecenderungan menignkatkan konsetrasi daun suji (Dracaena angustifolia) meningkatkan penghambatan pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella typhi.

ABSTRACT
Daun Suji (Dracaena angustifolia) is a herbaceous plant which in its application in everyday life has various uses, one of which is used for food, cosmetics and medicine because it has antibacterial properties, especially curing typhoid fever. The bacterium that causes typhoid fever is Salmonella typhi. This study aims to determine the antibacterial effect of Daun Suji extract (Dracaena angustifolia) on Salmonella typhi bacteria. This study used two concentrations of Daun suji, namely 3% and 6%, chloramphenicol as a positive control and aquadest as a negative control. The effect of giving Daun suji on Salmonella typhi bacteria was indicated by the formation of an inhibition zone at a concentration of 3% obtained an average of 1.22 mm; 6% concentration obtained an average of 2.50 mm; positive control obtained an average of 11.48 mm; while the negative control had no effect on Salmonella typhi bacteria. The results of this study showed that Daun suji extract was significantly able to inhibit the growth of Salmonella typhi bacteria. And there is a tendency to increase the concentration of Daun suji (Dracaena angustifolia) to increase the inhibition of the growth of Salmonella typhi bacteria.</note>
