Drug use is said to be rational if the patient receives the right drug for clinical needs. The rationale for the pattern of drug use includes the name of the drug, the dose of the drug, and the time of taking the drug. Gout or commonly called gout is a disease caused by themonosodium urate monohydrate crystals crystals in joints and connective tissue. This research is a survey research, namely direct research to respondents who are taken as research subjects. The research method used is a survey with a descriptive method with purposive sampling. 95% of patients who underwent self-medication chose Allopurinol as the gout drug used. The dose used is 100 mg, with the rules of use 3 times a day, taken after meals after meals. Patients get the drug information from workers other than doctors. They buy the drug at the pharmacy. After taking Allopurinol, the patient felt his complaints decreased or began to improve. 98% of patients do not complain or experience side effects.
