Acetosal or acetyl salicylic acid is a type of salicylic derivative drug. acetosal is usually made in the form of regular tablets, buffered tablets, enteric coated tablets, dispersible tablets, suppositories etc. This study aims to determine the levels of free salicylic acid contained in acetosal tablets, to determine the levels of free salicylic acid contained in acetosal tablets, and to determine differences in levels of free salicylic acid contained in acetosal tablets. The research used is an experimental study with samples of several brands of acetosal tablets with different manufacturers and those circulating in the city of Mojokerto. This research was conducted in a laboratory at the Mitra Sehat Mandiri Pharmacy Academy, Sidoarjo. When the research was conducted from February 2020 to June 2020. The sampling technique is a sampling method based on simple random sampling statistics. Determination of free salicylic acid levels in acetosal tablets with various brands using the UV-vis spectrophotometric method in the Mojokerto City area, showed the results that samples of brand A, brand B, brand C had salicylic acid levels in samples of brand A = 1.08% w / w brand B = 0.59% w / w brand C = 1.08% w / w.
