Human efforts to self-medicate or known as self-medication is the use of drugs for therapeutic purposes without professional advice or without a prescription. One of the drugs used in the community, namely chlorpheniramine maleate or what is called CTM is a type of drug from the antihistamine class. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of CTM according to the community in Jatisari Hamlet, Mergosari Village, Tarik District bylooking at 3 research variables, namely indications, dosage and drug side effects. This research is a descriptive study and the population is the Jatisari hamlet who has ever used the CTM drug. Non probability sampling with purposive sampling technique asmany as 261 respondents. The results of this study showed that as many as 197 respondents (75%) of the community had an understanding of the correct use of CTM drugs based on an understanding of the use of CTM drugs independently.
